Back in my hometown of Quesnel lived a cowardly boy named Jack. Jack was so cowardly that he couldn't even go into a basement without someone else with him. The biggest reason for this wasn't earthquake, nor meteors, but in fact spiders. That is right little harmless arachnids scared him half to death. Well you see one day little old Jackie boy decided that he won't be scared anymore, so he tries to go downstairs alone only to run up the stairs screaming, did I mentions he was a coward. Anyways the reason for this was he saw a shoe lace that looked a little like a spider. This fear also keeps him indoors and away from sheds, but that is not as important because he has no shed and hates outside anyways.
The next day Jack told his mom that they should go to a place were they can see spiders and his mom said, "Jack I thought you were afraid of spiders," but they went anyways. while they were there Jack was offered a chance to hold the tarantula and he said yes in an attempt to overcome fear. He held the spider and realised that they weren't that bad and he kinda liked it. After a few minutes Jack gave the spider back, and went home. On the way back Jack told his mom about the experience. He may have just overcome his fear.
When they got home Jack ran inside and went to the staircase. He was just about to go down it when he saw a spider. This little guy was right in Jack's way. Jack decided that he would let the little spider outside to it's natural environment and he did. Then he returned to the stairs and took one step down. It wasn't so bad he was still alive wasn't he. Then he took another step and then another and another. He had got about half way down the stairs when he realised that he was nearly past the point he hadn't passed alone for years. He was already down all but three stairs and he decided to boot this fear with style so he went and jumped all the stairs landing on his two feet. He was at the bottom, that's right the bottom of the stairs and not a single scream had occurred the whole time. Jack found that his previous fear was silly and just holding him back. After a bit he did decide he would play some computer games, but he never again did he fear those little spiders.
Last time I saw jack he was chilling in his basement and playing computer. I guess that his life truly has changed and he has achieved the goal of becoming nearly fearless, he still is afraid of earthquakes and meteors. Jack is a much more adventurous person now and he even plays football with friends sometimes. Jack also has been doing his best to try and get outside more and he actually is becoming a stronger and much more outdoorsy person.
P.S. the events in this story are mostly fake but some relate to the writer.
